Learn about local Home Care services at IGA on Thursday 15 July

Local seniors are invited to learn more about Churches of Christ’s Home Care services on Thursday 15 July 2021 outside the IGA St George on Victoria street.
Seniors and their families from St George and the surrounding region can find out more about the services available through home care, which could help them remain living in their own home for longer.
Service Manager Denise Cole said her team will be on hand to answer any questions the community might have about what home care is, how they can access it, and what they need to do.
“We understand it can be daunting navigating the home care and aged care system and we want to help demystify this and help people find and access the support they need to remain living independently in their own home and community for longer,” Ms Cole said.
Churches of Christ in a major provider of Home Care Services in Queensland, supporting over 10,000 seniors through a range of packages and programs.
In response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety, the Federal Government announced extra funding for Home Care Packages so that seniors can remain living in their own homes, maintain their independence and have the option to increase the support as their care needs change.
“It puts them in control, keeps them connected and allows them to maintain their lifestyle and quality of life in their community,” Ms Cole said.
Churches of Christ Home Care St George offers a range of supports including personal care services, such as showering, medication management, wound care, catheter changes, as well as assistance including transport to medical appointments.
The St George Home Care Team will be outside IGA between 9am and 12pm on Thursday 15 July 2021. Pop and see them to find out more about how the Churches of Christ Home Care team could help you.
